Thomas Lydon and James Nethercote – candidates for Redland Ward (May 2024)

“We both live in Redland, and it would be a privilege to represent our area in Bristol City Council.

Please do get in touch using the contact details below if there’s anything we can do to help.

You can vote for two counsellors and our police and crime Commissioner in the elections on 2 May. Vote Labour and be part of the change our country desperately needs after 14 years of Tory government.”

Our priorities for Redland:

As local residents, we will put Redland first, working closely with our MP Thangam Debonnaire and Metro Mayor Dan Norris.

  • COST OF LIVING: The Tories have crashed the economy – our Labour council has continued to support those in need but we’re all paying the price of Liz Truss’s disastrous budget.
  • PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The new Ashley Down station is nearing completion but we need better bus services in public control of where to get people out of their cars and address the climate emergency.
  • HOUSING: We need to invest in green homes fit for the fixture. Labour will upgrade 19,000,000 homes with our Warm Homes Plan, and 12,500 new homes have been built in Bristol since 2016.
  • SAFER COMMUNITIES: Shoplifting has gone up here by 41% and many crimes are simply not being investigated. Labour would reduce violence against women and girls, and restore the public trust and confidence in our police.
