Cllr Amirah Cole - Labour Councillor for Ashley Ward

Meet Amirah Cole, one of your Labour Councillor Candidates for Ashley!

“I’ve lived in Ashley all my life and I’ve served as councillor since 2021. So far, I’ve successfully campaigned for vital local services such as the bus and the dentist. Thanks to the latter campaign, the national dentistry crisis is finally getting the attention it deserves. I demonstrated against the Nationality & Borders Bill and lobbied with Bristol Women’s Voice to highlight the cost of childcare. Previously, I chaired St Paul’s Carnival and the Malcolm X Centre. My focus remains on including and empowering residents to make their voices heard.”

Meet Isaac Evans, one of your Labour Councillor Candidates for Ashley!

“I am an ACORN community activist, PCS union organiser, and civil servant. I am committed to advocating for Ashley Ward, and to giving full voice to the needs of our community. If elected, my focus would be on housing, transport, and the climate emergency. Bristol deserves decent and affordable housing, frequent and reliable mass transit, and a just transition to a resilient, decarbonised economy. Only a Labour council, fully backed by a Labour government, can deliver the transformative change our city needs.”

Meet Susannah Harlow, one of your Labour Councillor Candidates for Ashley!

“I’m campaigning to ensure that my neighbours are represented at this critical time for Bristol.
I’m a Stand Against Racism & Inequality’s training and education lead and a governor at St Paul’s Nursery School – and I previously taught at a local secondary school. Having completed my Masters in Education, I moved to a role where I developed courses around personal and employability skills for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Addressing educational disadvantage has been the focus of my career so far, but I’m equally determined to address the climate emergency.”
